Minnesota Fishing Reports

Welcome to the Minnesota Fishing Reports page.  Here you can find information about your favorite Minnesota lakes, rivers or waters.  Please feel free to post your latest Minnesota fishing report so that others can learn from you.

Improve your fishing skills and pass on your knowledge to others and be respectful of others - anglers and non-anglers alike.

Also be respectful of the Minnesota waters you fish.  Nobody wants to see their favorite fishing hole fished out because of the wrong information was given out.  Try to make your fishing reports informative, but at the same time a learning lesson for other Minnesota anglers.

Alright guys, I have to say that with 4 nights of bass league behind us, that the best bass lures this year have been a senko and a frog.  From what I am hearing these are catching the largies, smallies and under all conditions.  Only the locations vary, except that docks are most often the first stop, followed by the deep weed edges and breaks.  The biggest tricks are in learning how to setup the gear to handle this presentation and to see the strikes, followed by learning how to adjust it to the conditions to see what's happening and to present it properly.  Windy conditions are tough unless you can handle the boat and let it fall correctly.

As for the frog, nothing beats it in the slop.  Nothing.  I finally found the ones I like and have a bunch now.  So bring on the sloppy bass.

Next to learn the deep bass techiques like mojo rigging, and using tubes and grubs more.  Any tips would be great.  Thanks.

I never read this one till tonight,so lets talk about my favorite lures.

spring-I like lizzardsand shallow cranks!

summer-top water like a spook or chug bug are down right fun not the most effective but the most exciting!

fall-back to cranks shallow and deep ,plastics c- rigged.

OH! I almost forgot this ,on a fishing outing with a unnamed person i was reintroduced to the lipless crank,I hated this lure because I never caught a thing on it.I was schooled that day, this year I will be using this bait a little more.

Thanks,Flymaster

Pig-N-Jig is my favorite.  Black/Blue or Black/Brown.  I do change up the trailers quite a bit though.  If I'm not throwing that, I'm tossing a cranbait or jerkbait.
