Minnesota Fishing Reports

Welcome to the Minnesota Fishing Reports page.  Here you can find information about your favorite Minnesota lakes, rivers or waters.  Please feel free to post your latest Minnesota fishing report so that others can learn from you.

Improve your fishing skills and pass on your knowledge to others and be respectful of others - anglers and non-anglers alike.

Also be respectful of the Minnesota waters you fish.  Nobody wants to see their favorite fishing hole fished out because of the wrong information was given out.  Try to make your fishing reports informative, but at the same time a learning lesson for other Minnesota anglers.

That sounds like a lot of smelt, so that's great. When I cleaned my smelt, I averaged 8-10 dozen per gallon, but cleaned you should be able to get more to a bag.  Either way, considering that's a lot and we gave away several gallons too.  We must have had over 15 gallons of smelt and that's not a bad day.

Yeah we know how cleaning that many takes a while and gets to be enough smelt for a day.

Sound like a lot of good sized smelt too.  5 over 12 inches is great.

I am glad there were no cohos, walleyes or muskies in there..  Just kidding..  We would have seen them.

Well when are you going to put your chef's hat on and cook up a batch of smelt?  I am going to have some this week.  The deep fryer is posed in the kitchen and with it a recipe and fresh oil.  I'll post you on how they turn out.

Already did. I fried some up while my dad and I were cleaning them. They were really good.
