My son and I drove by the Lester River this past Sunday at the mouth and got out for a little walk. We were there for about an hour and saw 5 fish caught from the mouth to the first hole just past the bridge. I counted 25 anglers fishing there. But only a few caught the fish and one guys caught 2. He was using a float thrown out in the lake next to the river current using some kind of looper bug (hairy jig).
The fish were all bright silver and in good shape.
Get out there and catch em.
