Yeah, great job everyone.  Fishing league seems to get kinda competitive sometimes, but it's really about the getting out, having fun, learning more and making friends.  Keep it safe and remember, it's not an expensive, big pot fishing tournament, keep having fun.

Thanks Rog.  Yeah that side imaging is a blast, but no it isn't improving the fishing.  But we now know why the fish are there a little better, on some bites.  But I can't wait to run it around the river and several other places.  I do love my Hummingbird 797c I got from Marine General, it's AWESOME.  Now if I could learn to see the fish on the side images, I'ld really be happy with it.

Doug,

I'd really like to take a look at that thing next time we're at the launch.  My bro is talking about getting one and I know Alton Jones used it to great advantage during the Classic.  I'd like to see what all the hullabaloo is about for myself.

I can't help but be a little bit competative during these things.  It keeps my blood pumping and keeps me pumped up for getting out and constantly improving my skills and decision making on the water.

My opinion on that thing,It is a great tool for helping you locate things under water and it sure does help while scouting out new areas to fish if you have the time to scout an area for days you dont need one but if your time limited it is a must!

I've had my SI unit for a little over a year now. It's taken me some time to understand what I am seeing on the SI part. I belong to the Yahoo side imaging group and they have been a great help. There are many photo taken and posted with what you are looking at explained by the experts. There are several Humminbird engineers there as well as a couple of Pro guys that are very good with SI.

I love my unit and feels it's been a help to me. I would recommend it to anyone. I agree with what Al say and for me while my fishing this season sucks I wouldn't be without the SI aspect of the unit. Here's a link to the SI group on Yahoo, check it out. Lot's of cool photo's with explanations. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sideimaging/

Heading up to Caribou today a little later this AM. I need to learn that water. Anyone want to join me?
