I actually just use a photo editor. Honestly I wasn't trying to hide the background......I trim all my pictures....the subject should be the fish not the background. And this fish came off a bigger lake. Dang near every lake around holds bass....and some very nice ones. It's just a matter of finding where the big fish hang out. Last weekend may have been my last trip out.....found out I have to work all this weekend.
Good luck to anyone still out there chasing the lunkers!

Hey, I do that sometimes too. A little trimming can go a long ways. Really there's a lot of good places to go for a nice bass, it's all about getting out and going for them. If you targetted big bass and missed this time of year, you'ld be making a mistake. They are eating and there's a lot less people fishing them, which means a lot less pressure right now. And you really have the landing to yourself. Have you seen many people at the landing or on the lakes lately? I bet you are out there mostly alone.
I am hoping for one more trip or two. Depends on the weather and the hunting.
It's very rare that there is someone else on the lakes I fish.....especially bass fisherman. Last fall there were a few crappie fisherman out late into the fall but this year I haven't seen anyone out chasing them. Last weekend I did share the lake with a guy in a canoe.....which I thought was odd for this time of year. A guy doesn't get many bites in the fall but when you do get one it's usually a bigger fish. They can be a bit tougher to find once they move out of the shallower water....usually when the water drops down into the low 40's to high 30's. I think this is the temp/time that they transition to their winter locations.
