All I have been catching are pike.  I hope the bass turn on as hot as the pike and muskie.  I don't know that everyone will have limits this Thursday, but it should be interesting.  I think RO has been putting a hurt on all the bass in the river, top to bottom.    All that free time on his hands and boat...

There's some good fishermen in this group.  I think some big bags will come in tomorrow.  Fish have started to turn on the past couple days with this heat.  I think that since we were a bit behind w/water temps and the spawn this year, that there are a lot of fish just coming out of post spawn as well.  Pray for rain and the current that will come with it.  It should position the fish and cut down on this onesie twosie crud that has been plaguing us all on the river this year.  There are also a lot more 6-8" fish this year too.  I expect a lot of reports of small fish tomorrow night as well.  Good Luck to everyone!  Stay persistent and grind it out.

Once again I have to agree with the Hawghammer.  There are a lot of great anglers in this group.  I am hoping to see some big fish tomorrow, but the bite lately has sucked.  I do agree the fish are moving and I have seen a lot more small ones than ever on the river.  That's a good thing, shows that the river has a solid bass population.  Anyone grinding it out and working for them should get fish, I hope.

In the interests of sharing info I wanted to share some of the keys to success for Jacob and I last night.  We focused on areas with clear water and current where we had a combination of three factors.  Cover, Oxygen, and Food (COF).  Those three factors put us into skinny water, with green leafy (not stringy milfoil) weed clumps, and a hard bottom.  How Skinny was the water?  Skinny enough that I was holding boat position often times by burying the skeg of the big motor and the electric motor into the sand.  Now our presentation was key to putting fish in the boat.  A senko, even a 4 inch senko was dropping too fast and the current was not strong enough to keep it tumbling along the bottom in a dying baitfish lifelike manner.  In order to stay lifelike we stayed with very small soft plastics fished weightless and we let them just tumble along on a slack line and hang in the current.  We only manipulated the baits when they would get momentarily stuck or the line would hang on a rock or weed.  This "deadstick" approch was deadly.  On the way home Jacob and I counted up the number of fish we caught last night and it was around 20.  For the vast majority of those, the only indication of a strike was a swell of water or the line moving off.  Sometimes this was very tough to see with the current running.  Several times I would see an indication (swell, swirl, slight line jump, or unusual tension) that a fish had taken Jacob's worm and I would tell him to set the hook.  He had no idea a fish was on there.  So, put the factors of COF together, put it with your knowledge of the body of water you're fishing, and apply it to the problem of finding fish.  You'll go from simply spot fishing to fishing the fish.  I just wanted to share what my thought processes were going into this tourney and during the pre-fish to maybe help folks put a few more fish into the boat when we get onto another "Tough Bite".  Anyhow, Jake and I are having a great time with the league.

Thanks that is great info and the stuff people are always asking about.  I will be keeping it in mind.

Glad you're having fun with the league.  I am too and hope all are.  We only have a few more nights to go, then the Classic and our end of year party.  I sure hope everyone makes plans to be at the Classic and the party.  That's the final chance to talk fishing until we setup some road trips.

Good stuff and your strategy sure worked on the river.  Good job.
