Bass Fishing Road trips..

Hey does anyone make a road trip during the winter for some bass fishing?  I think a road trip is due, I can hear the bass calling.  You know you can never catch too many.  Besides I have plenty of bass gear now that needs testing.  Any good locations that we can check out?  I don't care if it's smallies or largies, but some place with a lot of BIG bass will do.  I hear South is the direction.

Thanks and good fishing.

I'm gonna say south as in Mexico maybe!  Or I guess Florida in Feb and March when the they are on spawn.  Spawn in Feb or March wish we had that up here.

I hear you there.  But I think the Twitch (switch) and I are going to take the bass fishing carnage to Tennesse, Missouri or Arkansas this winter some time.  Have tackle will travel..   Lots of tournaments in that area and even a BIG bass prespawn bite.  Not tons of fish, but bigger ones and that's what we're after.  Besides there's even a couple tournaments down there and who knows.  If we're feeling our oats after a few days of fishing we might even fish one.  Or at least watch one down there and talk to the guys about it and tell them about all you super bass anglers up here.

I think we could catch enough crappies to eat plenty of fish dinners and get some warm 40-50 degree weather..  IN A BOAT...  YESSSS!  Nothing like open water under the boat and a fishing rod in hand.  Maybe, just maybe we'll find the bass..  But we will try.

You two are hundreds of miles off course.  I know a spot right here in Minnesota that you can catch bass in the winter.  The best part is it's in about 70 degree comfort, warm water, and you can mix in walleye, pike, and catfish.  Do I have your attention now?  It's a little place called the "Sh@% Plant." Oh yeah.......we've walked out there in the winter.......tons of fish.  Cats, carp, smallies, even a really small musky one time.  Save the gas......a little hike could give you that rod bending bass action you're looking for.  You just might want to wash your clothes when you get home.......that smell tends to soak into your carhardts.

Man do you know how to set the environment...  that spot certainly has fish, steaming hot action, oh I mean water, so to speak.  Smelly and all, I bet it does have some good action and I am not against giving it a shot.  Keep me posted, I am up to going out and fishing it.  But I will pack a clothes pin, or two.  Hey do barley pops still taste good around that spot?  But 70 degrees, I suppose when there's little or no wind.  And I bet you can't build a fire, the water could go at any moment, or the gas explore with any big bubbles...  Oh I can see the news paper now...   "Local anglers blown to bits, while fishing at the fish spa, when large bubble of gas from a local treatment plant reached the surface and was ignited by the anglers cigar.  Names will be held until relatives are notified and the authorities can stop laughing.  Bodies lost, most pieces eaten by the swarms of fish in the nearby waters.."  Kinda makes you want to scout out the fishing, doesn't it?

Thanks..  That's a good spot, and I'ld love to try it out.  But I am still leaning towards a road trip too, sometime this winter to get in a boat and a tee shirt, with out needing a clothespin.
