Just want to tell all teams to be careful out there this Thursday. Island Lake Resevoir can catch alot of boats off guard with high rocky spots just under the surface. So if something just doesn't look right, take it slow. Unless you know this lake REALLY well, be very cautious out there. While I was up there doing some checking on the lake, there were a few high spots that I have never known about until I was right up on it. The map on my gps sonar unit wasn't even close to telling me this hump was out there. And the maps are just guidelines not every little detail is listed on the maps. So just be very cautious whenever you moving with your motor.
I even saw which looked like a regular on the lake just cruising slowly around the lake and run aground near me. I knew there was a low spot there, but it wasn't marked and only a foot under water. But you could have gone 20 feet in either side and would have been ok.
I won't mention who it was, but we already had one incident of a lower unit being banged up pretty bad while out pre fishing for this Thursday.
See everyone there for the 6:00 blast off! and good luck.
