Big Lake Night results

Well it was another good showing and even a special appearance by Mr. Joel (just kidding).  There were quite a few bass caught with 4 teams bringing in limits of 6 to the landing, with some big brutes caught as well.

Big fish went to the River Rats with a 3lb 15oz largy, almost 4 pounds.

Bass Express to home first place with a total weight of 11lb 14oz, inlcluding a 3lb 12oz.  Good job guys!

Picture of big fish from Bass Express.

I took a pic of the River Rats big fish for the night, but it didn't turn out.  I gotta get me a digital camera.  Their's was pretty close in size to the one above.

I'll be updating the results to the database tonight.

We are also talking of changing the Caribou Lake night to a different Lake.  We created a little list that we might move this night to.  I know some teams like Caribou and there are some decent sized fish in there, but we need good numbers as well.  Plus the amount of teams we have and the rec boaters we would have to deal with on a small lake.  So far we have Sand Lake and Island Lake (near Sturgeon Lake).  I've been on Island Lake, but never have fished Sand Lake.  I might take a road trip out there to test it out, but it looks like this might be the lake.  Let me know your thoughts about changing the Caribou Lake night.

The reason I had Caribou Lake on the list was because at first we were going to have a split night with Chub Lake, but since we are doing by weight, it would be difficult to weight at both landings.

Tight lines and be careful out there.  I also want to thank Big Lake Resort for their drink specials and good hospitality.

Yeah it was a great night and lots of fish.

I like changing it too.  Even last night the lake seemed pretty darn small for most of it.  We were within casting distance of each other a lot.  I think bigger lakes are needed.  I have never been to Sand Lake, but will check it out too.  But it sounds like the best choice.  I think Island would be ok too, but we will be right next to other teams a big part of the night, like Big Lake was.

Good fishing..

I think Lake Nebagamon is a great lake, but I doubt everyone has a Wisconsin fishing license.  So I don't know about it for that reason.  I do think Sand Lake or Ely Lake would both be interesting.  Since we have several teams coming from 30-40 South of Duluth and closer to Sand Lake, and not many, if any teams close to Ely Lake, I lean that way.  I think we should look at moving the last Island Lake night to Ely next year, that way we could do all these great lakes.

Just my thoughts.  What do the rest of you guys think?

I fished  Lake N before and is definetly a nice lake and also some other in that area.  But the problem is the out of state license.  I normally get a WI, but I believe most the teams are from Minnesota and don't know how many actually buy a WI license every year.  I'll talk with the teams before the years end and possible get some lakes in WI for next year, we'll see where it goes.

I forgot to update the results page for Big Lake itself.  The yearly standing were working, I just forgot to add the link to the results for just Big Lake only.

Then click on (RESULTS) for Big Lake.
