Were going to be trying a different weighing system. I've talked to some other bassn clubs and asked how they did their weigh-ins. Each one I talked to, did something different. But concept of hanging fish off of some kind of hand held device was used mostly. A few expressed not weighing fish by hand (holding the weigh scale in someone's hand while taking the weight), but attach it to something permant, tri-pod, boat, whatever, something that doesn't bounce or move up and down.
The mesh bad system worked, but not as fast as I would have liked. Who knows we might go back to it, but I'm just trying to fine tune our leagues weigh-in process for us up here.
So I've rigged something on my boat that we will attach the scale to and hang a basket from the scale. Teams will place their fish in the plastic weight bag (the ones that hold water) and take their fish up to my boat. We will measure fish and needed and put the fish into a plastic basket. The scale has a tare property (zero out the weight of the basket) and will tare out the scale after each weigh in. I've been testing the system and the scale itself for accuracy and seems to be working. I will also test it out tonight on some real fish on the Monday night league.
Good luck and be safe out there.
