The Batchin Cassnn team took top place for our first DABL tournament on St. Louis River. With a total weight of just a little over 18 lbs of smallmouth. I have updates the database with the teams that scored fish and you can view the results HERE. Plastics was the key for this night. Fished near rocky areas with sparse weeds cover in the shallows.
The Long Rods pulled in the biggest fish with a 4lb smallie. I caught this using a dead light pike minnow on a 3/0 octopus hook fished with no weight, just the hook and minnow. I switched to this after we caught a few on senkos in the same area.
It would good to see all the teams since the first meeting we had.
Remember the next night is on Island Lake Resevoir. Mainly a smallmouth lake, but it does have largemouth as well. NO LIVE BAIT IS ALLOWED, ONLY ARTIFICIAL. Live bait is only allowed on St. Louis River nights.
The River Rats won the drawing for Mr. D's and I will get them to you guys at the Island Lake night.
Take care everyone. Oh write down my cell phone number 218-590-1712. Take this with you out on the water for any questions or emergencies on league night.

I heard first won the Marine General certificate along with trophies, cool. And are you bringing the trophies to the next league night? Just curious.. Next week we have a certificate from Chalstrom's to give away too. Are the type of spots you fished like the ones the smallies are in in the fall? Shallow, shallow rock..
I found out the Database was not correct and will be fixing it tonight. Sorry for the confusion. The results that are showing now are from my testing. Thanks for someone pointing that out.
Tight lines every1!
