Just to be safe don't be on the water of a tournament the day of a tournament. That's to keep it easy to see no one is prefishing for bassn on that day. Even if you were after something else, you could accidentally find a new bassn bite and you don't want someone seeing you and questioning it. It's just the safest way for everyone.
Also be at the landing early to get launched, get your boat ready before getting in line to launch, we don't want to tie up the ramp for too long. There is already going to be 15 teams, so that alone is going to make a difference. The same goes for the end of the night, when you pull your boat out of the water, please pull it into a parking space and clear the ramps for others to get their boats out. If any non-league boats are there, be sure to let them do their thing. We don't want to create any issues with the fishing public.
Also be safe and sure that your bassn measure at least 14 inches on the St. Louis River, that's the law.
Remember we do allow bait on the St. Louis River, but not any place else. This is a fun league and for us to all learn from each other, let's keep it that way.
Thanks and good fishing,
Ya what he said. We can't stress this enough about the 14 inch minimum. If you think it's to close to call, throw it back. It's just not worth it messing around with the DNR. Plus we have 3 hours to fish for only one type of fish, bassn. Basically give yourself some insurance over the 14 inch mark.
Were throwing in bait to put a little spin on the league. Bait does work good for smallies on the river, but artificials are good as well. Whatever you choose, have fun doing it. I'll be out at the launch a little eary so I can set up and be ready for teams to get their discount gas cards and answer any last minute questions.
Good luck out there!
