got out today with my son's (8 and 4) do a little shore fishing today. would of loved to take the boat out but the 4 year old wouldn't last long out in a boat. We caught some real nice sunny's and bluegills more than afew bigger than my hand, fishing the old Conies landing on the st. louis. and of course i forgot the camera. was nice to get out and have some fun if you call baiting and taking fish off fun and not fishing yourself. which i do lol to a point. would of liked to keep some but i'm a little leary on the river. and it was hard talking the kids out of it.

Very cool CupCake.  I had my oldest son out fishing today too and we caught a lot of fish.  Of course he is 21 nearly 22 now.

Not sure if I know what you call the old Conies landing.  But sounds like a good spot from shore.  We were on Island Lake south, near Moose Lake and caught lots of crappies, bluegills, perch, rock bass and largies.  We even caught a walleye and pike.  It would have been a good league night.  But we aren't there for a while yet.

Hey did you make it to the Cloquet Fishing League night?  Just curious.  I know they are catching lots of fish even though one team did it from a 14 foot boat with a 6 hp, they took 2nd.  Very cool.

Conies landing is a old boat landing in a bay near indian point, big dock structure that burned down in the 70's. I couldn't believe how low the water is, about 12 feet down. we use to catch alot of pike there as kids.

No my buddy never got back with me on the league thing. Last night  my son saw the awards nite photos and seen the awards money for the MMTS and he's like i'll be your partner next year dad. Little guys loves to fish especially if there is trophies, he was the 3 years running kids champ at the campground, very competitive when it come to fishing. and full of excuses as to why dad is the snagmaster of the spring sucker run. (i should get a plaque or trophy made to pass each year)

Happy Fathers Day

Thanks, I may have to try that spot on a non-league night.  We are out of Boy Scout tonight and staying up stream all night.  Gambling on fish again.  Oh the fun of league and any excuse to get out fishing.  We are stopping at T-Bonz tonight if you want to stop by and talk fishing.

Happy Fathers Day to everyone.
