Well Twitch and I went out and caught the crappies up in the shallows and biting.  We worked a lot of water, but they were in the warmest and active.  We also saw a lot of bass and bluegills.  The bluegills weren't very interested in biting anything, but the crappies and even bass, were hungry and biting.

The crappies should be biting on most any lake South of Cloquet by now.  Then temps are climbing so the bite will only get better.  Nothing to it at this time of year, find them in water 6" to a 3 feet deep, near wood and muck.  They'll take a jig or plain hook and a minnow.  They are slow, so a bobber is the best ticket.

Good luck.

With the warmer weather pushing the water temps up and into the preferred ranges for crappies the bite will pick up.  Remember that some of the best bites of the year are right now.  I know I will be out there for the crappies soon.
