I have not fished the chain enough to know where the big pike are.  Most of the lakes in that area have a very limited number of big pike, and those that do exist are probably in the deep, open water sitting under a school of baitfish far away from any angler's hooks.  Throwing spinners on the deep weed edges will get you all the 2-4 pounders you could want though.

Slowly dragging lindy rigs tipped with big shiners will allow you to catch all three of the species you are after.  I have had good luck fishing the first drop off right in front of the bottle neck between Cross and Rush.  This area will hold big walleyes, big bass and some smallish northerns.  I don't why there wouldn't be some bigger northerns there, I just have never caught one.  Although I have been exclusivley walleye fishing; so my baits have not been the ideal size for the big girls.

Thanks.  When you were catching the big eyes and bass with lindy rigs, is that a morning bite or just when they want it anytime of day?  Any favorite colors for these lakes?  Or depths to start searching for eyes?

The fish normally sit right on the break.  I have never found color to be a big deal when fishing 'eyes, especially when the jig or rig is tipped with live bait.

Cool, we'll have to try that.  What do you think Mr. Twitch?  Ready to try catching more gravel lizards?
