That's good info.  As food goes, is there a favorite food for the SLR muskies?  I lean towards smallies myself. But I figure that if the fish is a size that is doable, they'll eat it.  I know they smack the crappies, pannies, walleyes, rough fish, etc.  Are they sitting on the huge schools of suckers and carp?  When I find the carp in the spring they are in numbers and spawn all over.  But they have certain areas that they load up in.

Thanks.  I think this is the year for me to throw some of the big soft plastic minnow baits.  Like the Inhaler and the Bull Dawg.  They look like they should work fine.  Do you like those types of baits much?  I know one concern I always have is that with the weeds, can you pull them more than a few inches without having a basketball size ball of weeds?

That is why safety-pin style spinner baits are preferable - no weed hang ups.  We have done well with a BoogerMan buzzbait designed for Muskies....at specifi times of the year.  In the channel - no worries about weeks.

I would guess their favorite food in the river is redhorse, but I also know they follow the crappie and perch schools as well as the juvenile walleyes.

Thanks..  I'll have to get more of the big hair pin spinner baits.  One question on that.  I have one of the hard side muskie boxes, full to overloaded, well packed too full.  But even empty its not good for big hair pins.  Is that a good box for them?  Or is that one of the reasons for the big styrofoam coolers being used or a homemade wooden box?

Yeah I knew the redhorse was great for muskies.  But what do you use to imitate one?  A big believer or swim wiz?

Black rocks as a great color.  Glad to see gds around, he sure can catch big pike and muskies too.  Its great to have so many good muskie anglers around here.
