tenaciousd, I found a few videos.
Jim Saric's Precision Musky Presentations
Steve Heiting's Muskies Any Time Any Place
I think you could learn from both videos, but Saric's is better in my opinion. Part of his video was filmed near by, I reconized two of the spots he fished. You could borrow my copies if you want.
Also remember 50" Muskies are at best 1 percent of the population. In the case of the St Louis the odds are even lower, but that may be changing, I sure hope that as the leech lake strain fish get older I will be catching some 50"s.
Later
Wow, that's a nice Musky.. Did you catch that one on the St. Louis River?
Thanks widowmaker, I will look for those two videos and watch them. Maybe I'll borrow them, I love to learn and do have a lot of videos also, but not the two you mentioned.
Yeah a 50" is a tall order, but that's the goal and I'll work for it. I am betting it will take time and work, but then everything good does. We'll have to keep our eyes open on the St. Louis River and see if the Leech Lake strain goes there like it should. There sure is enough food for them.
Hey if anyone is going to catch some 50's, I'ld be betting on the Widowmaker..
Thanks.
Hi I just joined he board and thought I'd say hi and I thought I could throw my 2 cents in here. Like the others said the in-fisherman video series is great. Another great great video and book (trust me just get both) is Dick Pearsons's "Muskies on the Shield." Awesome info I've read my copy about 4 times now and watched the vidoe more than I can remember and I'm going to read and view it again before season starts. The simply fishing video series is great also, I haven't wwatched anything from Jim Saric, Pete Mania and some of the other big names in the industry but I'm sure they would very very good. But like the guys said the best way to learn is to talk with guys that have been fishing muskies for while. You might want to think about hiring a guide for a day or two trip sometime you will learn more from a good guide in 2 days of fishing than you would learn from reading 100 books and watching 497 videos. I've only been fishing muskies for 2 years now and am no expert by any neams. But I have learned almost everything from talking to guys and fishing with a few. Granted I read books and watch videos every chance I get but it's nothing like getting out and doing it. JMO
Hi and welcome abroad.. Here your two cents worth is always welcome. I have been fishing muskies for many years, but they are not my only fish so I don't do it all the time. I spent a lot of time talking to muskie guys, guides, etc. and fished with many. You are right the time in the boat with an expert is awesome. Learning from each others experiences is what this site is all about. I will have to add these videos and books to a list for everyone and pin it to this forum. I think information like this needs to be available for anyone wanting to learn. I have most of the In-Fisherman videos and books, so I too read and watch a lot, not as much lately, I have been too busy lately. That will have to change, soon.
Another thing that we do is fish in our fishing leagues and connect with other hard core anglers, so we can learn from each other, get out together and have fun fishing. Just like being online and leaving us posts and talking fishing you are always welcome to stop by and fish with us.
Welcome and I'll be seeing you online more..
