Oh yeah, you know I try most anything if anyone says it gets fish. But I let the results speak.
The first time I used the small circle hooks, SUCKED... I lost several big bass, but any hook can have a run like that. But since I have had a good day or two with them. You did get a kick out of that later, but those bass would have helped a little that night. No experimenting in a tournament again. That's all for prefishing and scouting.
I still prefer the bigger hook gap of the EWG hooks myself. I do have to say there are times I'ld take the small circle hooks first. Like around lots of weeds or heavy weed cover, if I plan on skipping my plastic to the shoreline at the front of the dock thru all the frame (yeah, I've done it, over 30 feet of skip sometimes). In heavy wood, etc. You get the picture. I think you have to be a little gentler on the hook set or slower with a smaller hook, but that's what the circle hook is all about. Slow and firm.
Yeah it was a frustrating day to say the least. But we still did good. Oh well. No not sick, just wacky.. Come to think of it, most any of Twitch's rigs are wacky rigging, so anytime he's fishing, it's with a Wacky "Twicth" rig...
Loadmaster, yes after I watch them in use I gave it a try.I can say that in the end youll save some money.I caught 14 bass on 1 worm o-ring set up.Please post the link to where you found them at.
Heres a little tip for anyone think they would like to try the O-ring.Take your worms to the auto parts store and try different o-rings till you find the ones you need.
If the o-ring is to small it will be hard to slide on and may pinch the worm in half to big of o-ring and it will be easily pulled out when fish just grabs an end with a little trial and error you find that one that works for the worm your using.
