Well went out on the St. Louis River this past Monday.  The weather was just awesome, but to bad the fishing wasn't.  I managed a few small smallmouth, and nothing to brag home about.  The walleyes are in the river feeding along with tons of rock bass.

The ones I caught came off of crankbaits.  I just could not put a pattern together.  There are still lots of minnows and shiners sitting in shallow, so I thought the smallies would be following suite.  I think the fishing for the big hawgs still has yet to come, because the weed lines are dying off fast and the smallies will be more congregated in certain areas.  Now I have to find those areas :)

Those river smallmouth are driving me nuts, I think they are even more picky then walleyes!

Well hopefully I'll get a few more times before the snow flies to find some, otherwise it's been slow out there in the early afternoon and late afternoon. Who know, maybe the morning is doing alot better, but have not been out in the morning yet.

Thats is for now.
