yep its a fun time. Drove by the lake on my way home from work today-- there has to be 100 fishhouse out there for the contest. I which they would not allow houses for the contest. I'm going to be heading over there around 9:30-10:00 to get a spot to fish.

Well the Maple Lake Derby was "Packed". I would guess there was about 4000 people there. Not a lot of fish were turned in. I would guess there was about 40 pike registered. The Largest Pike was 12 lbs. caught near us in about 4 FOW. Our group of 20 or so caught 4 fish. 2 - 4 lbers and 2 that were 1 and 2 lbs. All the fish our group caught were also caught in 4 FOW. I didn't stick around to see what they won. All in all where we were fishing we seen probably 10 fish caught- with only one being caught over 5 FOW.
Man sounds great. Sorry I was given a last second training class for Monday and Tuesday. Plus working hard on a new outdoors online store, we hope to have out in a few weeks and several websites. So I had a ton to do and little time.
Sounds like you had a good location with the pike biting. I hope someone won some prizes. Just let us know.
Put this one on your Calander for 2009--- They have the fishhouse already sitting in town. Word around town is cabelas is going to be a sponsor this year. They are trying to make this the largest tournament in the state from what I here. They say they had around 7,000 people last year.
I'll get the exact date off the fishhouse wednesday when I go to Madigans, Thats where they have the fishhouse sitting right now. They move it from business to business every so often--- Its a nice house. Just have to have the 34th largest fish to win it.
