Well the CrappieKing, being a gentleman, invited the LoadMaster to fish with him. The 3 of us, and JaksBoat went out to the Big Jig. JaksBoat brought his brother-in-law and by the end of the event we had done very well. They give prizes to the top 100 places and we ended up with Jaksboat Bro winning second with a sucker, scoring the ATV; the LoadMaster winning 8th with a nice crappie and some electronics (the newest Lowrance ice fishing sonar and setup) and I took 72nd with a big perch and walked away with a bucket of ice fishing gear and certs to Famous Dave's.. How did they know I love BBQ..
I haven't been in an ice fishing contest where the top 4 fish were suckers.. Yes suckers. I wish we still scored them. They are a great gamefish and fight great. Crappies were the hot bite, not sure why they avoided the CrappieKing, maybe they feared him and kept their distance.
We had a great day and I would guess it's safe to say we will be doing it again. Thanks Chopper1 for helping keep MMTS involved and in the loop. This event was a class act and well run. I think it's a great event we should do each year.
