Actually, Twitch, didn't you already have your dream trip? Remember, Island south, fishing for panfish, rockies, and crappies with me?

Make sure you are specific when you wish for that dream trip. One of my dream trips recently turned in to a nightmare! I wished for a Colorado drop camp elk hunt last fall. It was supposed to be a nice October trip, 7 days in the mountains. It turned into a whiteout blizzard on the way out! A 3 hour horseback ride in turned into more like 6 hours after our guide got lost. After we got to camp the guides were anxious to get back out, so "there's water up the hill that way, fire wood for the stove where you can find it." We had another foot of snow that night, the tents were covered, so was the firewood and water hole! 2 more feet of snow the next 3 days made for hard hunting. I didn't even see an elk. A few moose though. I guess I should have gone fishing instead of winter survival camping!

I bet you'll never forget that trip, Mr. Karl.  And from here on out, you'll probably have better odds of a better trip than that.

I'm going to Algoma, or similar, next summer. Who can suggest a good charter? Or even better a fishing partner with a boat set up who just needs someone to split gas, hotel and beer costs with him (or her???). I need to reel in some big salmon! 218-390-3538 Karl
