According to loadmaster were only 4 weeks away from the peak time.I wouldnt mind a fresh smelt dinner.

Just a note, when you see the smelt dinners  (Mr D's/Tap A Keg), those are not smelt caught locally.  They are imported from Canada. The ones you catch and clean, taste much better.  Will keep everybody updated  Mrs Smelt King will make sure of that.

I am not sure if this means anything, but I was off the point fishing this morning and saw a lot of  diving ducks and a couple otters out in the lake.  In addition the salmon have started to move in, so my guess is there must be a few early smelt starting to move into the area as well.

Not to far off.  Will say the dates I predicted are on.  Saw a few people of the pier fishing did not see anything caught.  What scares me, is that the upper river is still iced in and there is still ice in the lower harbor area.  With this forcast for this weekend it does not look good.  Still saying we will be netting the point on the 20th.

I think this year I will be like the bull walrus and just be the beach -master.

Its melting pretty good down my way all the rivers are opened up that will help get the St louis flowing.
