Alright, time to make your predictions on the smelt run.  The Loadmaster is also the Smelt king.  He, his wife and family stay on the smelt and will have them down cold for us.

I think we are within 4-5 weeks now.  They always seem to come around the 2nd to 3rd week of April.

Maybe Robbo would be interested in catching some smelt?  With all that we catch, we have plenty of smelt for everyone.  I don't know what we'll catch this year, but two years ago we had an awesome run.  I remember catching over 10 gallons in one pull.  Some pictures are in our photo gallery.  Just check them out.

Anyone have a guess?  I'll guess April 18th.

If at all possible I would be up for it.

The way this winter is going I'll be wise and guess the 4th of July. I'm really getting sick of winter. Luckily I have been fortunate to be able to work inside most of the winter. A few of our jobs were shut down alot, due to the cold weather.

Keep me posted. I'll try working something out.

The offical and I mean the offical date of the smelt run will start the april 16 with the peak 20-23 April. Mrs Smelt King will post a daily update.

A change to the smelting rules this year will be that Mr King will only be directing fellow smelters and be in charge of the beer and flahlights.

Everybody is welcome to give it a shot with all the people in our group we should have more than enough waders and nets to to be able to take smelt home.  Even if you have never done it before come on down and give it a try. Just bring something to carry the smelt home in ( 5gal Bucket) and some warm clothes and what works well is a headlamp.

Will keep everybody informed
