Ok how this for an idea, for a "multispecies.com fishing contest".  My sister owns a cabin on a lake just north of Garrison. Not much for fishing in the lake she's on, but the surrounding area is pretty good. I think its right across from baby lake. It would have to be limited to at most eight boats, parking is a issue, but we could find room, and maybe just stack them in the driveway, Some would have to sleep in tents, but the cabin has everything.  They rent the cabin out to other people, but if we but some fish in the freezer for them it would cost hardly anything.

Have a Two day fishing contest. Fish one lake one day and fish a different lake the next day.

The cabin has two Bedrooms, and two pull out couches. If we move them and the kitchen table we can get another 4 people in the cabin sleeping on air beds.  So thats 8 people in the cabin - 8 would have to tent it. I have a 3 room tent that sleeps a crew and I have a 24' tarp I can put over in case of rain. Its been set-up there a few times.

Would we be able to get 8 boats?

I  am thinking of staying away from Mille Lacs lake and hitting smaller lakes by there. Theres some good ones close by, I here. I have only been to mille lacs on a charter when I go up there. But with my small boat I would like to stay on the smaller lakes.

Who's interested ?

Sounds like a nice place.  My only request would be that we fish water that holds a decent walleye population.  The last time I was on Mille Lacs, we caught walleyes of a lifetime all day everyday, so it is hard to pass that body of water up.  But, I am always up for finding new places as well.  Got any ideas?

I am game.  My boat will handle most anything around there.  Lets just do it.  How about June?  Or Aug?  July's tough for me, I have the kids pretty much the entire month.  But I have to avoid weekends of the Ultimate Angler multispecies and bass events.  So if it works out, I'll do it.

Spoke with my brother-in-law last night. The cabin is open June 6,7, and 8th

They haven't had a large group stay there before and didn't know what to charge- we talked it over for awhile and came up with $30 dollars a night, per person. I didn't think that was to bad, down the road on the lake is what? I have no idea, we won't have everything a hotel has but almost.

So heres my idea:

8 boats at  $170.00 a boat.

$120 for lodging and $50.00 for tournament

Thats $85.00 per person

8 boats at $50.00 = $400.00

1st place - $200.00

2nd place- $150.00

3rd place - $50.00

4th place- Cleans the cabin (Just kidding)

I know its not a money maker, but should be a good time.

Any thoughts, or ideas

Robbo
