We went to Island and fished the morning to early afternoon. Pretty slow, just a couple of keeper walleye. We also caught some nice smallmouth and have a new spot for multi league night! Two boats that came in after us didn't catch anything.

Very cool, Mr. Cooke..  I think you are out for the win this year and after that run at the end of the year last year, you have momentum.  Cool.

We went to the St. Louis River and caught a bunch of pike, walleyes and some perch, big perch. I am sure we'll be out again.

I loved the fishing, but the boaters on the river were normal.  Some boaters obviously don't know that you cannot park a boat in the boating lane.  They would use their trolling motors or anchors in the channel, blocking traffic.  I would vote or lobby for the DNR to start writing them fines for that.  As it is, I know of several boats, that when trying to get around them, ended up grounded and one had to jump into the water to push their boat off the mud.  And they had the right-of-way to have the channel.  Another thing, thats nuts, is that the fish that were biting were in the shallows and not in the channel.  Most of the fish in the channel were negative.  But you can't tell some people that, they just look at the pictures on their sonar and wreck the day for others by causing conflicts.  Oh well, some people love to start trouble and don't learn the rules or even try to allow everyone the chance to have a good day.
