Alright everyone we are meeting next friday at Mr. D's.  Feb. 9th at 7 pm.  We'll be voting on the few changes noted on the site and talking fishing.  So bring anyone that wants to get in, and bring your entries to reserve a spot.

Time to talk fishing and relax.

See ya there.

I already have plans so will be unable to atttend on the 9th.  Please let my opinions on this site serve as my votes.

No to Chub Lake.
Yes to Cartibou
No to Whiteface.
Yes to Freshwater Drum and all other legal underutilized fish as one category.  Please include burbot, bowfin etc....
No to white bass and white perch.

If there is anything else on the docket you can safely assume that  I will vote the exact opposite of the old farts so please record my vote accordingly.

Alright, that looks like an Absentee Ballot.  But we never were talking about white perch except to compare them to white bass.  White perch are an exotic and illegal and not going to ever be scored.  White bass could have been some thing else, but to avoid confusion, we'll just not have them either.

I think a rough fish category is fine, especially adding those to the carp and sucker category and letting it go.

I like both Chub and Caribou Lakes, but they are starting to seem small and we're all very good on them already, I think we need something more challenging and bigger.

We'll keep you and everyone posted.

We had our first meeting of the season and had a pretty good turn out.  We now have 8 teams paid into the Bass League already.

No real vote on officers, it was brought up, but no changes made, but we did get a vice president, Congrats to Bob Carson, aka the LoadMaster.

We discussed the rough fish issues and voted to drop rough fish all together.  We will not score white bass and that ends the discussion about them and white perch.  We passed the schedule as is, please check it out online.  We changed to change the Big Fish Pot to pay out 50% to the Biggest Total Inches and 50% to the single Biggest Fish.

We are filling up the Bass League fast, be sure to pay before Apr 1st, there's several teams waiting to jump on that day.

We did mention that some big multispecies tournaments are coming up this summer, $50/team per event with a guaranteed $300 for first.  If you place in the top 5 of any of these events, your team is paid into the big dance on Big Sandy for the Championship.  That championship is going to be worth over a $1000 for first place.  We have a real promoter working on it already.  It could lead to a big series and real money in the near future.  I do encourage everyone to think about it.

These bigger multispecies eventes will be posted out here as soon as they are finalized.

Well that's the meeting as far as I can remember and from my notes.  Thanks to everyone for showing and discussing the information.

Good fishing.  Our next meeting will be in about a month.  I hope more can make it there.  That will be the last meeting before the Apr 1st deadline to pay in and secure a spot for this year.

Alright, what is going on here?  With this being a multi-species series how did we just lose some of the best fighting fish our water systems have to offer.  That is what made this a unique set of tournaments.  If we are going to arbitrarily not count fish for whatever reason, then rockbass should have been the first to go.  More people target underutilized fish, than rockbass.  In fact does anyone in the state ever fish for rockbass other than on a league night.

In my opinion if the fish can be legally caught and transported, then is should be scored.  If we are not going to count fish just because someone doesn't know how or where or want to catch them, well then we need to start evaluating the value of some of the other species and possibly move some of them off the list as well.
