Thinking of purchasing a new auger.  I have owned only a Strikemaster and had no problems.  Liked the grips, thumb bar, that it came with an attached allen wrench.  Just wondering if I'm missing out on a better, more reliable, better warranty auger.  Could you guys please just yell back with what you like, what you've used, brand you know suck, best buy for money, etc.  Thanks

I have used them all and love my Jiffy.  I have the big 10" and wouldn't go small again, I can get any fish I catch thru that hole.  Of course, I have seen some great working Strikemaster augers too and only used an Eskimo a little bit.  But I know several people with Jiffys and they all love them and never go to anything else after having had one.  I know these guys have tens of thousands of holes per auger and not heard of any issues.  Well start em, and catch em when they fall through the ice.  I think they are a little heavier than the Strikemasters but I liked the last Strikemaster auger I used and would have one without a problem too.

Just my experience.  But one thing is for sure, use a power auger and you will not go back to hand augers..  EVER...

Good luck..

I somehow got this urge to post here (wink, wink)

I've experience with all them, but none of them I own.  But I also don't get out as much as some people.  Out of all them they I've seen used, they all started decent and cut holes just like they should.  As for all the little nuances and durable, cutting speed, etc, I can't help you out on that one Chopper 1.

But I did bump this post up :)

Yeah the FlyMaster is feeling the force now..

I like the Jiffy but the StrikeMasters are real easy to use too.  They maybe slower but they are lighter too.  I don't think you can go wrong with a name brand auger.

Let us know what you decide on.
