Boat is overall ok......motor didn't start.....dirty, maybe a few surface scars on the keel but not bad. The boaters are ok....I had a soar shoulder, Benny had a sore tailbone.....but we were ok. We were out of the water....I mean we were pretty much beached! Scary ordeal......but another lesson learned the hard way.....always wear a life vest and keep your kill switch cord on....this all goes double time when traveling at night. Also.....no matter how well you think you know a body of water....she can still mess with ya.
Damn pictures aren't working......says I don't have the rights to upload.......what the hell???
We're glad you all alright. If you want, just email the photos to me at dpirila@yahoo.com and I'll get them on your post. Then you can add all the captions you want.
It does sound like a very scary thing. And that's one of the reason we have the rule to wear life jackets whenever under the power of the main motor, and always when on plane. I know what you mean about never knowing a water good enough, it sure looks a lot different after dark and later in the season. Man the number of muskrat houses just jumps out of the weeds at this time of year and the shallows are a lot tougher to see when the weeds are gone. and no more bouys.
We'll have to have a meeting soon to set the schedule and get everything ready for next year any way, I do hope we can hear the full story then.
Talk soon.
