Hey guys, Please mark your calendar for August 17th and 18th to come out to Chub Lake and help us teach kids how to fish. There will be several of us there.
Whether or not you can make it, please help us find some fishing rods and reels for this too. So let me know if you have a rod or 10 to share for a couple days.
Come out and volunteer your time for some kids that don't get the opportunities to enjoy the great sport of fishing. Deep down it will make you a better person and you'll go home knowing that a kid had at least one time of fishing that they might not have otherwise.
I'm even willing to bring the grill and cook up some brats and sausages for those that help. Just ask the bass league about my Old Wisconsin brats cooking skills I had at Sturgeon Lake But you have to bring your own drinks.
Who knows, if you ask Doug, he might be able to show you his secret tips for trolling for those famous Chub Lake pike
Call Doug if your interested. We are getting the times written in stone right now. Most likely they will be in the daytime hours, so plan for that. But we would like a list so we can contact people that are interested and tell them the times and to find out if they can make it.
If anyone know has any or know how we can get extra fishing rods for the two days, please contact Doug.
Thanks for your time.
Well the YWCA Grant School Summer Program and Girl Power groups have confirmed that they are going to make it. So if you can help please plan on making one or both of the following days. You can bring your kids too, that's what it's all about.
Thursday, August 17th, we will have the YWCA Grant School Summer Program kids meeting us at Chub Lake at 1:00pm. They said they will have less than 20 kids.
Friday, August 18th, we have the YWCA Girl Power group of girls ages 9-15. They said they also have less than 20 kids and will be there at Chub Lake at 11:00am.
So, if you guys can borrow us a rod or two for a couple days we will be needing a few. Ivan is looking for someone to sponsor us with some fishing rods and reels, but does not have anyone yet. Marine General has said they will provide the tackle, bobbers, sinkers and hooks. So we need crawlers and fishing rods and reels.
Anyone want to help get the rods and reels ready? Please be early on Thursday so we can get the fishing rods and reels ready to go. I'll see if Ouitdee can bring his grill and we'll make some brats while we get the fishing rods ready.
Thanks in advance for helping.
