Hey Folks,
Two groups that run events for low income kids, are holding events where they would like us to introduce low income kids to fishing. We are getting the dates set, so anyone that can help with this, let me know.
The Grant Summer Camp, out of the YWCA, Duluth MN takes kids 7-12, boys and girls, approximately 20-40 kids, out for the day. They would like us to introduce them to fishing. Just the very basics and with this many kids from shore is best, but if we get enough boats we could take a few in each boat for a short period of time and get them bit, easy enough on Chub. After discussing what they wanted, we are leaning towards Chub Lake and August 17th, a Thursday during the day.
The Girls Power group, also from the YWCA, Duluth MN takes girls 9-15 yrs old, and has a group of upto 30 girls, out for the day. They want us to introduce them to fishing also. Just the very basics and with this many kids from shore is best, but if we get enough boats we could take a few in each boat for a short period of time and get them bit, easy enough on Chub. After discussing what they wanted, we are leaning towards Chub Lake and August 18th, a Friday during the day.
The Flymaster, Margaritaville, and myself can do both days, Ivan has said he could do Friday. Please let me know if you can make it one or both days. The more of us the better.
This is a good opportunity to spend a little time passing on our passion about fishing to the next generation.
