It is not the money, for me either.....President
O'REALLLY....
I like the idea of having seperate pots. I would try the walleye first and see how that goes. Everyone fishes for walleye or has at least tried for them...
Question:
Teams would still pay the regular membership first, then decide if they want to throw in more into the seperate pots right?
Money is probably not on the top of the list for most of the teams, but it adds to the competitive nature of the league. So it is part of the reason why we fish MMTS, you can't deny it. But it's not at the top of the list for most teams. Im just assuming.
Yeah, it is not for the money. I want to be known for my fishing... You can quote me Ouitdee..
Yes, people would first pay the regular membership to multispecies, then choose to pay or not pay into any pot that we have. I will join one or two other pots.
Money is not on the top of the list, breaking even is on the list, but getting out fishing, learning and becoming a better angler, and hopefully ending up near a plaque, now those are at the top. With getting out fishing, being with others that love to fish and chatting, sharing a beer, while learning and becoming a better angler, that's why I do it.
The money gets me committed to being there, to trying to break even, and I know it motives many to go for it, which pushes us all to become better. The better the competition, the more you learn. Money does bring out the competitive side of some anglers. We all know that.
See ya on the water. Good fishing.
By the way, we will be discussing this at the next league meeting on Monday, Jan 16th at Mr. D's Bar and Grill in West Duluth starting at 7:00pm. Please stop in and let us know what you think.
I think it is going to happen, my prediction. The keys are that it doesn't change the way we score or run the multispecies groups, which are doing great.
Talk to you all there and good fishing. Be careful on the ice, the weather has been too warm for a while now.
