We will not be having Little Store Gas cards this year. The reason, not enough people used it to make it worth their time.  Oh well, I am sure we could all use them now with price of gas.

Our sponser are looking for some type of  pay back for there outlay.  If we do not support them thay will do away the program.  I sure hope everybody uses Marine General and Fisherman Corner for there fishing needs. If not, you can kiss them good bye.  These are the two last sponsers  Things might be cheaper a Wally World or at Gander, but what have they done for you.

If we lose these two sponsers, we will have to increase the entry fees by a latge amount to make up the difference or lower the praze pay out.

So when you use a gift cert. at either place make sure you let them know who you are and how much you appricate their support or it will be all done with

Yeah, that's the same with all sponsors.  I don't know how the Little Stores didn't get enough.  I alone spent over $3000 at them last year.  They also did not count all the times I went there but didn't have gas, they did not count those times at all.  And I know that several times I went there, they did not write it all down.  So I think their counts were very accurate.  Oh well.  It's too bad, I think we sent tens of thousands to them.  Not a bad deal, I thought, oh well.  I'll be using the most convenient gas station now, which is more Holiday gas.

I use Marine General, but am already sitting on a lot of tackle and gear.  I am usually there for replacements to something lost and big stuff now.  Although I will be replacing a bunch of my fishing rods and reels and will be there for all of that.  They'll be seeing a lot of us.

We were at Fisherman's Corner today and bought stuff too.  So we're in there a lot when we start fishing and we are just starting.  So they will be seeing me a lot now.

I agree with Al. Sometimes businesses don't look at the broad picture. Did it really cost the Little Store anything to give us a few cents off? I didn't always use the card to fill up, but I bought a lot of stuff at the Little Store just because they were sponsors. Because of the card, my wife always filled up there.

I'm giving money all the time to different things and it doesn't automatically bring in new business and I don't expect it to. If nobody from league bought insurance from me, would I quit sponsoring? Heck no! It's good PR and people tell their friends, etc. It usually pays off in the long run.

As for Gander vs Marine General, they both have their pros and cons. I buy from Marine General because they have everything and Russ and Cory will do anything for you. I also buy from Gander because it's usually a more convenient location for me.

It might seem they have no outlay (Little Stores). but to print out 120 cards, have some way to track even if not everytime and all the other stuff it must cost them something. So far I have only seen three members say they used the gas card.  As far as Russ goes and Fishermancorner, Why even have them as a sponser if you do not want to make the extra effort to use their store.  Doug if you have so much stuff, why do you not just give you cert to a losing team.  Sorry to like I am ragging, but next year somebody else can go to Russ and Scotty and ask for something and he looks sorta of dumbfounded as to why he should support us.  I guess everybody wants something for nothing.  Enough said everybody knows how I feel
