Cooke is right, completely.
As for the quitting a team, it was a member that had not fished at all, but was listed and removed as a third member. So they never fished as a third member and only subbed all year for a few teams, and never for the team he had been listed with. But we should define that or remove the 3-person team rule. I think it does make the 13 nights seem more doable to people. Otherwise people complain about all the nights and the big commitment.
Precisely my point Mr. P.
So teams voted a new rule to allow for 3 person teams and had to follow the "team members cannot sub for another team rule" before the start of the season, then someone or someone's decided to twist (make a new one) it to make it fit for a couple of teams halfway through the season. I bet most teams didn't know it happened last year, but it doesn't mean that teams can make up rules as they go along.
There was not a rule against someone getting out fishing and he was not on a team. The competition committee agreed to dropping him from the official roster early in the year. Then later in the season he was contacted to sub for someone. That was discussed by the competition committee prior to being done.
This is a good topic for the members only section and our Monday meeting. But the short of it is that "Any official team changes must be cleared through the competition committee in advance of scoring for any official league night."
