Hi Everyone.

We are very glad to have you online and fishing.  That's awesome.

I think it was a great start with so many smallmouth and crappies coming in.  Our first nights were pretty tough and we didn't have many limits, except for walleyes, but then the walleyes used to be easy to get a limit.

So what are the odds of a guy coming down there and getting out fishing with someone?  Hey I love to catch smallmouth bass and crappies, any thing that swims really.

Thanks and welcome,

Doug

It's tough sometimes on the upper St. Croix. I and my son  made the mistake of looking for the far and few in between legal sized Walleyes for over an hour ended up with none. Then switched to bass , only to catch 1 legal sized fish and alot of undersized was the problem...

This week we went for sunfish early and bass later with many hammer handles hitting our lures too, but Balsam Lake has a 26'' Northern limit . and we ran out of time to try for the eye's. We all got a late start 6:00pm and the sun goes dim faster now 8:30pm this time of the year.

skeeterbee fishes alone so far and cheddarsled had help week 1 not week 2, and I take my 10 year old and he is getting better everytime I take him out if it wasent for him we would have had a goose egg week 1.

Having a real fun time with this and it gets us out fishing where as most of our time is spent in front of the tv , mowing , working , and paying bills ect...  Next year I have some interest from others but this year is pretty much filled with set schedules and commitments , I suppose I could have reached out and brought in a couple more boats this year, but for now it's just real low key 3 weeks only . Hopefully we get to 10-15 next year we'll see .

Thanks Doug ,                 Later, Jeff

Hay it's a start.  Sounds like it looks promising so far and I'm sure you'll find bunch more teams looking to sign up for it.  Just remember one thing while running it, try to KEEP IT FUN for everyone!

Don't get me wrong it's just human nature to want to win, but the league is more about having fun with fellow anglers, learning and best of all everyone is out fishing!  What can get more better then that.

Good luck!

We are looking at having groups with 5 night schedules, fishing every other week (for us that is Mondays) and the top teams going on to our Championship.  If you get enough teams, even with a 5 night schedule, your group could also send it's top teams to the Championship.  That would be awesome.

Well just give us a call and we can talk sometime.  Thanks and great fishing.
