Minnesota Multispecies Tournament Series - Fishing News, Rules and Announcements Minimize
Everyone is invited to join us at our End of Year Party on Saturday, Sept. 22nd.  Please plan on making it.  It's a Potluck, so plan on bringing something to share and a beverage of your choice.

We'll be giving out all our awards for the Multispecies Fishing League, Duluth Area Bass League and Cloquet Area Fishing League.   So it will be a great time to share fishing stories and eat lots of great food.

It is going to be held at Mark Jukich's home in Hermantown.  Jukich's have always been great hosts and have a great location they share with us.  Directions are posted in the forums.

Please invite anyone you want, especially anyone interested in fishing.  AND yes, most definitely include your significant others and spouses.   They'll meet all the guys you fish with.  Maybe it'll help explain the fishing craziness, maybe NOT...

See ya there,
Doug Pirila, MMTS President, DABL member and angler

Thanks to the following leagues for helping get the Mentor Duluth kids from the YMCA out fishing on Chub Lake.  Minnesota Multispecies Tournament Series, Duluth Area Bass League, Cloquet Area Fishing League, Duluth Area Fishing League, Ultimate Angler Challenge, Trollers Association, and Fishing Webmaster.  We even had an extra boat on this day.  That's awesome.

All the kids had a great time, life jackets, and we will shortly be sending them copies of the photos we took of the day.

Thanks for a great job.

Night 12, August 13 we were on Big Lake and the weather was going bad fast.  We ended the night 45 minutes early and still saw some impressive fishing.  Lots of pike and largemouth bass came in.

First place went to Team TGIF, Doug Pirila and Ed Forrestal, with a 4-species bag including crappies, bluegills, northern pike, and a big limit of largemouth bass including three bonus largies for a score of 140 points.

Second went to Team Choppers, Ben Biermaier and Brent Selden with a three species bag of largemouth bass (1 bonus), a crappie and a limit of northern pike, including a 28 inch pike for 137 points.  Third place tonight went to our highest scoring rookie team, Lucky Not Good, with a bluegill, crappie and limit of northern pike for 119 points.  I think it's a bit of luck and lot of hard fishing.  Great job.  The wildcard tonight went to 7th place and Team Frustrated Inc, Don Szymczak and Ron Lilliberg.

Congrats to everyone for a great night of fishing.
