Interesting.  Bait is a good question.  Grand is fine, now with the new ramp.  And only a few dock owners are grumpy ones.  I know the Pike Lake owners are somethings way out of line and near a call to a cop.

Well either way, it's great to get the kids and spouses out.  Great idea and I am sure, no matter how you do it, it will work out.

Hi to all

These are all great ideas and I am open to suggestions. As far as the schedule is concerned most all the lakes you talked about are in there. Now as far as catching large numbers well that can happen or not happen on any lake we choose.Bob as far as kids go yes I agree they can get bored eaiser but thats when you need to get creaitive some kids get bored and others never get bored. An example is hawghammers boys they are young but fish very hard because they have learned patience and even when they would have a tough night they still had fun. When it comes to bait I could care less I think I will let the members decide that one when we have a meeting.
I here what your saying Doug about pike owners but if it happens this year I will be calling the DNR to report harssment I will have the local Wardens number in my phone.

Sounds like a fun time.  Not sure my daughter and I would be up for 7 Tuesday evening in a row, but maybe a few events on the smaller lakes.  4 events for the two of us would probably be enough.  Will there be nightly prizes or is this a end-of-the year total points deal?

These are really great ideas.  I know when I have my 6yo daughter along I do most of the casting for her.  It is a hoot to watch her try her darndest to reel in a 12 inch bass on a spinning rod.  Lots of huffing and puffing w/a reminder at the very end to stop reeling otherwise the hook ends up in the tip w/a very disturbed fish still attached. lol.  I have let the kids drag a senko behind the boat under a bobber and that works too sometimes.

I have only had one run in w/a pike lake dock owner so far.  Usually I have the boys w/me so that probably helps keep the owners from making an arse of themselves.

I'm looking forward to this w/the kids.

Yeah, I don't know how many kids I've had in my boat, but that reeling the fish thru the tip is common.  And I'ld be nervous around anyone's dock with most kids pitching.  But it's awesome the excitement they have when catching a fish.  And they are not normally very quiet about that either.

On all the Take-A-Kid fishing days we have so many screaming excited kids, it's a blast and still good when it's over.  It's definitely easier with your own kids or significant other.

I can name a couple bad docks on Pike Lake, two on Grand Lake, one on Big Lake, but everyone on Chub and Caribou have been great.  I wouldn't want a kid to experience that bad behavior by adults.  On one dock on Pike Lake the adults encouraged a rude and mis-informed teenager to yell at us for fishing the shore on past their dock. It was a sickening experience.

I hope all goes smooth and that's why we need to discuss this stuff and be ready to do the best we can.
